Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
In the mood for more nourishing sun? Because that’s what we’ve got on tap for today, with temperatures expected to be in the high 60s, according to the National Weather Service. If you’re out exploring, don’t forget to snap a few photographs and share them in The Nabe’s Flickr group.
Here’s more news to get your day started:
- Mayor Bill de Blasio revealed a decade-long plan to boost the amount of affordable housing in the city, The New York Times reported. The plan, designed to help an estimate half million people, was announced at a construction site in Fort Greene. Using $8.2 billion in public funds, the city would preserve at least 120,000 affordable units and build 80,000 new ones.
- Brooklyn Nets fans might be out there celebrating the team’s first round victory over the Toronto Raptors, but there isn’t much time to breath after game seven. The second round starts tonight at 7 p.m. against the Miami Heat, a team that many people expect to win a third straight National Basketball Association Finals title. Where will you be watching the game, locals?
- One of the most ornate mansions in Clinton Hill was featured as the House of the Day on Brownstoner. The Clinton Avenue home is on the market for nearly $10 million, which includes 7 bedrooms, 6 working fireplaces and 5.5 bathrooms in the sprawling 8,750-square-foot building. Do you think the place is worth the purchase price, or will there have to be a price cut?
