Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. We’re starting the day sunny and dry, but humid air is on the horizon, and rain is expected by the evening rush hour with temperatures in the low 80s, according to the National Weather Service. If you’re out enjoying the pre-rain weather, snap some photos and share them in The Nabe’s Flickr group.
Here’s more news to get you going this morning:
- A 16-year-old boy died of a gunshot wound in the torso in front of the 88th Precinct station house yesterday afternoon, police said. Laquan Nelson had been shot outside his Lafayette Gardens Houses home and walked to the precinct, where he collapsed at 5:45 p.m., according to cops. We’ll have more information on the murder later today.
- Looking for a swanky co-op in the nabe? Brownstoner showed us an 1,800-square-foot pad worthy of your consideration. The Clinton Avenue home has lots of upgrades including a modern chef’s kitchen and energy efficient appliances, as well as three bedrooms and two baths. Do you think the pre-war space is worth the price, locals?
- The Myrtle Avenue bar Splitty is gearing up for its 15th week of comedy on Thursday. The show, Myrtle Comedy, is the creation of comedians Larry Murphy and Greg Johnson.
