Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
Many weather reports have called for raw conditions to end the week, but to be quite honest, we were excited to break out a comfy sweater and hot coffee to beat the chill this morning. What’s the best way to beat the rainy workweek blues, locals? Let us know in the comments below.
Here’s some local news to help you get the day kickstarted:
- Last month we reported on Good Neighbors of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, also known as “the Geezer Project.” We noticed that the Clinton Hill Chill Blog followed up on the senior-centric project. The blog noted that “the Geezer project has the potential of turning the bustling neighborhoods of Clinton Hill and Fort Greene into friendly villages.” What do you think, locals?
- Did you recently notice an empty space where a Citi Bike station once stood at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Lefferts Place? New York City Department of Transportation work was the reason for the removal, which is only temporary, reported DNAinfo. While the bike rack will be back this week, some residents were perturbed that they were not notified, the blog reported.
- If you have a spare $3.75 million, you could be the next owner of Grammy-winning jazz saxophonist Branford Marsalis’ former Clinton Hill townhouse, according to Curbed NY. Check out the post for lots of photos from inside the four-floor home, including some beautiful hardwood floors.
